INSTRUCTIONS
We have to choose 1 infographic poster from Internet that is un presentable,
and we have to redesign the poster into A4 size. Simplify the poster based on
visual hierarchy and typography, color, shape and pattern.
Poster Choosing
Poster Choosing
In class, Mr.Shamsul asked us to find an unpleasing poster and consult with
him. So, I found out these 3 posters from the internet :

fig 1.1 Bad Poster 1 |
This poster is lack in typography, messy, and the color combination are not
good.

fig 1.2 Bad Poster 2 |
This poster is lack in typography, messy, and the color for the background are
too contrast.

fig 1.3 Bad Poster 3 |
From the three poster, Mr.Shamsul suggests me to choose either the first one
or the second one, as for the third one, he said it is not bad. So, from the
three choices, I choose the first one for me to make it better.
Visual References
I made 3 sketches. The first one is a simple one with the information placing zig-zag. The second one is a bubbly shape because when I think of laundry, I think of bubble, so the information are placed on the bubble with some graphical elements. The third one is the information inside the washing machine. I'm not sure if this one works since there is 5 steps of the information.
Process
Firstly, I made the digital version of the second sketch, which is the bubble
one.

fig 1.6 Draft 1 |
I think this is cute but it needs something to make it looks more bubbly and
interesting. I'm going to make this poster cheerful and playful. For the next
step, I try to add background.

Next, I change the circle shapes into different curving, so it looks more
natural, and also adding graphical elements.

fig 1.8 Draft 3 |
So far, I kinda like how it looks, I add a washing machine graphic to the
background.

fig 1.9 Draft 4 |
I think it look okay, but the background is a little bit pale, so I change it
into a gradient background, also change the text position to straight (to make
reading easier).

After getting feedback from Mr.Shamsul, I try to make another version of my poster.

I still love my bubble design, so I continue using that bubble design but I change the graphics so it looks more connected one to another, also I change the bubble size into the same size so it looks more consistent.

Next, I continue on doing the animation with photoshop.

FEEDBACK
Week 4 - Mr Shamsul suggests that I need to add more information like how
many kg of the washing machine can fit in, how much soap to put in. He
also suggests me to come out with another layout. Then for the text, can
be align left, and need to think about the size of the circle. The graphic
elements need to be more consistent, and just need to have simple one.
REFLECTION
In this task, I look through so many infographic poster and I know which
one is lacking and which one is bad. From there, I can learn to know how
to make infographic poster looks nicer. Doing animation for the poster
also help this infographic poster looks more interesting although
animation is not my cup of tea. But I enjoy doing this task overall
because I get to explore my design ideas.
