Task 2 : Design Proposition
INSTRUCTIONS
After finishing on proposal and presenting it, we already revised what is
lacking in our slide. Then on, we continue on doing our slides.
Continue on Proposal
On week 4, we continue doing our proposal, and we try to play our game to
see which part is lacking. We also started to do a survey to see what people
think of our board game as well as to see who is our target audience.

We also try to play the board game before moving on any longer to see which part is lacking.

Then, we also decided our color palette and font. Here is the chosen color
palette and font :

We separate our tasks and each one of us digitalize different element from
the board. I digitalize the board itself. This is the process.

And this is the finished board. I haven't decided which one should we use,
the color and which logo should we put in the middle of the board. So here
is everything that I have done to show some variations.

After the feedback session, we improved our digitalize version again.
Revision
For the logo itself, after consultation, we decided to change the name of
our product from "WHODYTHINKUR" to "WHO 'R YOU?". We think
that this WHO 'R YOU? is more straightforward and easier to read.
Here are our revised logo :

Next, is the board. In this part, we are suggested to make it look more
mysterious and scary because the theme of the game itself is mystery. I add
some blood drip into the board and change the color in the middle. Here are
some of the board with different color and logo used :

We finally decide to use this one because we think it's more creepy than the other options.
Next, for the mini game cards, we are suggested not to use all korean
traditional game but we also need to include malaysian traditional game. Then,
for every card, have different awards after winning it (earn a heal card, lose
a heal card, give a heal card to other player). So, we try to change some of
the game to malaysian traditional game. Here is how it looks like :

Finalization
After getting feedback from Ms.Vi, we finalize all of our design.
For the logo, we decided to change it into the bigger magnifying glass
with the title inside it. Here is the result :
As for the board, we make it looks more consistent together with the cards
and information booklet. So, I decided to put the texture and bloodstain in
the middle of it, and as what Ms.Vi said, the middle of the board just keep
it simple. Here is the result :

For the character card, it's acceptable although we need to change the
background and add texture. Here is the result :

For the minigame card, it's also acceptable but need to add texture. Here is
the result :

For the heal card, we also add some texture to it. Here is the result

Same as the information booklet, we need to re-do the typography and also
the texture for the paper. Here is the result :

SUBMISSION
FEEDBACK
Week 4 :
Think about deliverable, think about typography and color palette, and
the art style we are going to use.
Week 5 :
Make sure you complete and prepare all deliverables and what's
needed within the semester. The overall game concept reflects a lot
from the series Squid Game and avoid doing this because people might
see our work as just a ripoff. You can keep the colour scheme
inspired by the series but do not follow the whole concept. Enhance
and add a more mysterious side to the visuals as the current design
only seems happy without any of the implications of the murder
mystery. Try to reflect some of the South East Asia/ Malaysia
cultures and aspects into the concept design for the characters and
game schemes so that people will engage with the game better.
Week 6 :
Add more vintage, bloodstain, and fingerprint textures to the card and
board to enhance the design. When applying these textures, use the
blending mode (Multiply) to seamlessly blend them with the existing
design. Additionally, update the logo to "WHO ‘R U?" and incorporate a
magnifying glass on the "O" for a more intriguing look. For the role
cards, adopt a mugshot-style layout to further emphasize the theme.
REFLECTION
After digitizing the board, I was finally able to fully visualize how the final product would look. Seeing all the elements come together, especially after carefully selecting the font and color palette, was incredibly satisfying. The digitalization process was one of my favorite parts of the project because it transformed our ideas from rough sketches into something tangible and polished. It was exciting to watch our imagination turn into reality, making all the hard work feel worthwhile.Additionally, playtesting the game before digitization was a crucial step. It allowed us to identify and fix any flaws in the design, gameplay, and overall user experience. Through this process, we refined the board game, ensuring that the final version would not only be visually appealing but also engaging and functional. This experience has reinforced the importance of iteration and testing in the design process, and I truly appreciate the journey from concept to completion.
